Help Your Teen Cultivate Their Acting And Singing Abilities

A summer musical showcase bootcamp program will help your teen gain confidence and improve their skill levels. Your teen will learn from many gifted educators who have succeeded in careers that center around acting, dancing, and singing.

A Program

A bootcamp program features intensive training that is conducted within a short time span. An overnight bootcamp may feature workshops during the day. These workshops will each be geared toward a specific skill set.

Your teen will be exposed to many activities that they may have already participated in during high school drama classes. They will, however, likely be presented with some new performance techniques that will help them expand their abilities.

Inclusions

A summer musical showcase bootcamp will likely be hosted on a campus that features dormitories, a theater, and classrooms. A program brochure will list all of the inclusions that are furnished during a participant's stay at a bootcamp.

A well-rounded bootcamp session may provide lodging, a cafeteria, meals, and extracurricular activities. A well-rounded program will provide your teen with an enriching experience that will make their summer truly unique.

The Audition

A musical showcase bootcamp will have limited space. A popular camp may feature several programs that are held consecutively. Due to the limited space that is available, a camp director may require applicants to audition in order to receive a spot within a program. If your teen will need to audition, they should begin preparing for their audition in advance.

A bootcamp brochure will outline the manner in which an audition should be submitted. Each applicant may be required to attend a live audition or to pre-record an audition. If a pre-recorded audition must be presented, your teen will need to select a song or acting part that they will perform.

Preparations

Once you and your teen have researched some summer musical showcase bootcamp programs, discuss which one will be well suited for your loved one's interests. Then, begin preparing for the application and audition process. Be mindful that you will need to pay for the camp program in advance. You will also need to turn in the application and audition by a certain date.

Once you have paid for the program and filled out the application paperwork, focus your attention on helping your teen practice for their audition. The use of quality lighting and audio equipment will improve the quality of the recording that is made. A costume and background music will support your teen's role in the audition performance.
